The boubou is the traditional Senegalese robe, worn by both men and women all over west Africa. It is usually sewn from a single piece of cloth and usually 59 inches (150 cm) wide and of ranging lengths.
Boubou is made from folding the cloth in half, shaping a neck opening, and stitching the sides halfway up to make flowing sleeves. For Women, the neck is wide and rounded.

Boubou is one of the most comfortable yet beautiful outfits for fashionistas. It is very simple to make and comfortable to wear as you can move freely in it. Depending on your budget, different kinds of fabrics can be used to design the boubou dress ranging from lace fabrics, adire fabrics, brocade fabrics, Ankara fabrics, etc.
On picking colours for your Boubou, you can go for white because of the versatility and it can also be matched with other colours in terms of embellishments and accessories.
